Interconnection of Surface and Groundwater Systems – River Losses from Losing/Disconnected Streams

Ecoseal improved the understanding of surface water and groundwater interaction within the Lower Gwydir aquifer and assessed the impacts of a losing disconnected river system on the groundwater in the Lower Gwydir region. This included development of a fine-scale sub area model of the upstream and downstream river reach for the Gwydir river for analysis of stream-aquifer interconnection, water balance and transient stream loss for the section of river.
